Democratic Republic of the Congo - Oct 16
There is a dominating political debate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo about whether or not President Kabila will respect the constitution or change the constitution and seek a third term. Article 70 of the constitution limits the presidential terms to 5 years, renewable once. Article 220 additionally states the presidential term is not subject to constitutional amendment. Thus, President Kabila must step down at the end of 2016. There is however speculation and political maneuvers that lead many to believe he is ready to change the constitution and attempt to remain in office beyond 2016. Source: All Africa
