Ecuador's cartoonist Xavier Bonilla is amongst 17 people nominated for the Index on Censorship's 2015 Freedom of Expression award. Bonilla, a cartoonist who has at times confronted President Rafael Correa, in 2013 became one of the first victims sanctioned by the Communication Law after one of his cartoons satirized a break in at the house of one of President Correa's advisors. Freedom of speech has become a recurring issue with Correa's presidency. Source: El Universo
