EU - Nov 18
Following cases of avian influenza in the Netherlands and the UK, the EU is taking measures to keep the “highly pathogenic” virus from spreading within the affected area, or to other member states, including prohibiting the sale of live poultry. Officials say that the virus could have been spread by migratory birds, and may be linked to a recent case of the virus in Germany (although no link has yet been established between the three cases).
