Amnesty International have criticized the EU for its barriers against refugees entering the region. More than 3,000 migrants have died in attempt to cross the Mediterranean Sea this year, and Amnesty International say the EU is not doing enough to lower these numbers. EU Commissioner designate Dimitris Avramopoulos says he will boost the EU's border security, but that this does not transform Europe into a 'fortress'. Source: Euronews, Amnesty International
