Feb. 25 - Singapore
In a speech to engineering and real estate students on Wednesday, Development Minister Chan Chun Sing spoke about fostering social interaction in the real estate industry. As such, he argued for developers to consider creating spaces that allow for privacy while also encouraging socializing within the community. Minister Chan emphasized the importance of a holistic education that encompasses the social sciences, as some universities in Singapore still lack curriculums that focus on understanding social needs. This speech followed Singapore's recent efforts to curb the issue of an "aged population with a social problem." The government also introduced the Silver Support Scheme on Monday, which will give quarterly cash payouts averaging $600 to the nation's poorest seniors. Source: Channel NewsAsia
