A French appeal court ruled that the Irish low cost airline Ryanair has to pay €8.1 million in damages and €200,000 in fines for breaching French labor laws, paying workers under Irish contracts to avoid social security payments. The company had contested the original ruling and lodged an appeal in June 2014. The appeal court upheld the original ruling, but decided to reduce the amount to be paid in damages by €700,000.
