The end of the nuclear negotiations, set for November 24, approaches as negotiators meet in Oman to try and work out a deal. While the Ayatollah has in recent days told Iranians to prepare for a “resistance economy,” evidence on the ground suggests that the authorities may be preparing for a comprehensive deal. The country’s business press has been covering the run-up to a Tehran car show which would feature European and American manufacturers; something that would be impossible without the suspension of sanctions. Comments by an advisor to Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif indicated that following Obama’s secret letter to Ayatollah Khamenei, the two sides are willing to cooperate with “maximum flexibility.
