Israel - Mar 19
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has begun to roll back comments made while running for reelection this week, including a vow to prevent Palestinian statehood and a remark about Israeli Arabs voting in large numbers on election day. Netanyahu discussed the Arab comment with NPR and the Palestine comment with Fox News. Both remarks have strained Israel's ties with the United States, its closest and most powerful ally, and frightened many who support a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine debate.
