Italy - Mar 27
The Italian Supreme Court has overturned the convictions against Amanda Knox and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito for the murder of UK student Meredith Kercher in November 2007. Kercher had shared an apartment with Knox in Rome before she was found dead. Knox and Sollecito were originally found guilty in 2009 but were freed in 2011 before being re-sentenced by another court last year. The two had always maintained their innocence, citing a lack of credible evidence and motive. Source: BBC News
