Japan - Oct 12
The New York Times reported on the paradox between nationalism and internationalism presented in Japan’s education system through its reformed history textbook, on Oct. 12. The new version of history textbooks, which have been adopted already by Yokohama, the second largest city, denies Japan’s militaristic aggression during the WWII. This position is contradicted with officials favoring internationalism to compete with universities abroad. Source: The New York Times, NewSphere
