Kenya - Oct 03
Despite backing the Kenyan president, the presidents of Rwanda and Uganda will not be joining President Uhuru Kenyatta to The Hague next week. After the ICC ordered for the presence of President Kenyatta during the conference, it was rumoured many African leaders would accompany him. President Kenyatta is accused of implementing a ‘joint common plan’ to execute killings in Naivasha and Nakuru in the aftermath of the disputed 2007 presidential poll. The African Union is against President Kenyatta facing trial, asking for a deferral of the trial in 2013 and even threatening to pull out of the Rome Statute.
