Vientiane Police officials have issued a warning to families to pay more attention to the issue of human trafficking. The anti-human trafficking section of the police force has cooperated with village officials throughout the country to to raise awareness of anti-trafficking methods amongst local people. This week, Thai officials returned a Laotian victim who had escaped from a human trafficking syndicate in South Thailand. In 2014, Vientiane officials received 139 victims of trafficking, all women, from Thailand.
