Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo - Feb 3

Following an African Union summit, the Malawi head of state Peter Mutharika stated that Malawi will send 850 troops to the Democratic Republic of Congo in a peace keeping mission. The troops from Malawi will also be accompanied by support from South Africa and Tanzania. The ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo has ravaged the country for over 20 years, causing the deaths of over 5 million people and the dislocation of 2.5 million people.
