Malaysia - March 4
Controversy has surrounded the the recently proposed Prevention of Terrorism Act which has been criticized as being a copy of the abolished Internal Security Act (ISA). Home Minister Ahmad Zahid has denied allegations, stating that the Act is necessary for the country to better contain local and foreign terrorists. The controversial ISA was banned in 2012 because it was seen as a political tool to silence critics and was used against individuals and groups with differing political ideologies. Source: The Star
