Boko Haram recently released a video claiming to show the group beheading two men. This is the group’s first online post that features advanced graphics and editing techniques, techniques that are incredible similar to those used by the Islamic State. The recent pattern of change in Boko Haram’s media presence could mean that the group is seeking to expand its influence and create ties with international militant networks, including Al Qaeda.
