Scotland - Nov 14

Scotland remains determined to achieve independence. Alex Salmond (head of the Scottish National Party) threatened that Scotland might hold another referendum if British leaders fail to follow through on their promises to grant more autonomy. The new SNP leader, Nicola Sturgeon, echoes Salmond’s attitude but confirms that there are no plans in place for a referendum at the moment. The British government has issued a statement intended to reassure the SNP and any hesitant Scots that reforms will be implemented after the national election in May 2015.
