Serbia - Oct 16
With a geopolitical situation at the crossroads of Europe, Serbia is once again struggling to choose between a closer alliance with Eastern or Western Europe. This Thursday, it seemed that Belgrade chose Eastern Europe as it hosted President Putin to commemorate Liberation Day, including a parade in the Russian leader’s honor. With shared roots in Slavic tribes and Orthodox Christianity it seems that Russia would be a natural ally but hopes to join the EU and maintaining close economic relations with the West has also come into play.
