South Sudan - March 4
The United Nations Security Council has unanimously resolved to implement a system of sanctions against individuals blocking peace in South Sudan, which have already caused the deaths of several thousand Sudanese citizens. The Council is seeking to enforce the Cessation of Hostilities Agreements signed in 2014 between the South Sudanese government and the People’s Liberation Movement. The resolution will additionally impose yearlong travel bans and asset freezes for all parties found guilty. Source: AllAfrica
