On Monday, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and opposition leader Pedro Sánchez signed a new antiterrorism pact.  This is the first anti-terrorism deal that aims to tackle both jihadist extremism and support for radical groups in Syria and Iraq.  Only one day after the pact was signed, however, the opposition party already planning to repeal an element of the law regarding life sentences for anyone convicted of a terrorist attack.  Sánchez assured his party that they will be able to change the terms of the anti-terrorism law if they win a majority in Congress in the upcoming elections.
