Uganda - March 3
Activists in Uganda are fearful of growing police brutality as the 2016 Presidential Elections near. On March 1, 2015, President Yoweri Museveni rearranged his cabinet to incentivize political allies to support him in the 2016 Elections, in which he is expected to run again. Since January, media activists have been protesting the government’s political and economic injustice, resulting in systematic attacks on the independent media, leaving citizens fearful of an increasingly oppressive leadership.
