United Kingdom – Feb 10

For the fourth time in recent years, the European Court of Human Rights has ruled against the United Kingdom’s blanket ban on giving British convicted prisoners the right to vote.  The Court has called for a change in the law, saying that it breeches the inmates’ right to a free election, but no such revisions have been made.  A UK Ministry of Justice spokesman stated, “The government has always been clear that it believes prisoner voting is an issue that should ultimately be decided in the UK.” Source: BBC News
