United Kingdom - Feb 17
Inflation in the United Kingdom fell to 0.3 percent in January, according to the Office for National Statistics, marking the lowest level in recorded history. According to the Bank of England, the rate of inflation may temporarily dip into negative figures in the coming months. In contrast to recent trends, however, figures for core inflation--ignoring food, energy, alcohol and tobacco price volatility--increased from 1.3 percent in December to 1.4 percent in January.
