Yemen - Mar 16

The former prime minister of Yemen and other former Yemeni cabinet officials were released from house arrest this week after weeks of imprisonment by Houthi rebels. The discharge was orchestrated by the rebels and the United Nations and marks a point of progress for the country. Yemen is currently driven by two competing governments, the Iran-backed Houthis in the original capital of Sana and Saudi-backed President Hadi in Aden, a southern city. International governments are picking sides by choosing whether or not to open new embassies in Aden. Source: The New York Times
