Afghanistan - Sep 30
On Tuesday, Kabul and Washington signed a security pact that permits an American force of 9500 to remain in Afghanistan after 2014. This served as a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with NATO. Afghanistan will maintain its complete sovereignty, and President Ahmadzai assured that nighttime raids and house searches would cease as international troops pull out. The signing of this pact signifies a greater overall security in the wider region. Source: Pajhwok Afghan News
