Albania - Mar 19
Following in the footsteps of many of its Southern European neighbors, Albania is beginning to make a name for itself in the international energy community. Apart from selling the state oil firm, Tirana has made moves to open the nation for foreign investment by simplifying business practices. Oil blocks have been put up for sale, research periods have been extended and companies have been exempted from the Value Added Tax. These measures have further piqued the interest of Shell and have attracted initial interest from ExxonMobil, BP and Eni. Source: Reuters
