Continuing the trend in a series of high-profile corruption charges, the Finance Minister of Romania has just stepped down amid questions of his actions in previous political positions. Questions have arisen as to whether or not Darius Valcov accepted bribes in connection to construction contracts between 2010-2013 during his time as the mayor of Slatina. Although there is no proof as to whether or not Valcov received the 2 million euro sum, he handed in his resignation after concerns voiced by the President. Source: Deutsche Welle
