Bangladesh - February 18th

Statoil and ConocoPhilips are bidding for potential deep-sea oil and gas wells in the Bay of Bengal. If successful in their bids, the two US-based oil companies will share profits with the Bangladeshi government. The oil and gas will be sold in Bangladesh to help ease a constrained energy supply throughout the country. Bangladesh suffers from severe energy shortages.
