Cambodia - Oct 18
In an effort to fight back against the exploitation of natural resources, Cambodia's government has seized roughly 46 miles of land previously granted as economic land concessions (ELCs) for development. The seven companies who were recipients of the land grant between 2006-2011 had not developed much or any of the land since being awarded the grant. The move comes in another long line of Cambodian efforts to regulate how ELCs are awarded.
