China
June 16th, 2014 Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited India's new prime minister Narendra Modi to discuss issues of border disputes and trade agreements. Wang Yi emphasized that only by resolving the border disputes could China and India cooperate even more deeply on matters such as infrastructure, trade and tourism. It appears that China is seizing an early opportunity to solidify ties with India's reform-minded leader in order to resolve the diplomatic and security challenge posed by the South Asian country. Should relations continue to warm, this cooperation would have gross implications for the future of Asia in terms of infrastructure development and spheres of influence.
