China - Feb 27

Members of the National People’s Congress of China continue to revise its counterterrorism law. The majority of the lawmakers agreed to define terrorism as “any speech or activity”  that threatens national security, excluding the term, “thoughts” from the earlier definition in addition to “speech or activity.” Such revision is aimed to balance between national security and human rights protection. However, considering the terrorist acts in the past years, lawmakers also suggested several provisions to strengthen “national security and social order”. Source: People's Daily
