Sierra Leone – Feb 28

Over the last months it appeared as though Ebola was nearing eradication in Sierra Leone, however, in February Ebola began to reemerge in the country via the sea. Sick fishermen came ashore in February, which led to new infections in wharf-side slums. The new surge of the virus has been attributed to the arrival of infected mariners and the recent easing of anti-Ebola measures, however, officials remain optimistic that the virus can be eradicated.
