In light of the recent ghostwriter scandal during national college examination, otherwise known as "gaokao," in China's Henan Province, the schools and other institutions of education implicated in the scandal have been required by the National Education Authority to comply with all investigations. So far, 127 ghostwriters, most of whom are college students, have been caught and face serious punishment. Lured by the lucrative rewards, they bribed test monitors and produced fake documents to evade the tight security. This scandal is the latest in a long running trend in Chinese high schools, where the "gaokao" is known as the test that decides one's entire future, and reveals both the lengths that students are willing to go to in order to succeed in today's ever more competitive world and the need for reform in the Chinese education system. http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2014-06/18/content_17595886.htm
