Colombia - Jan 27

Colombia's President Juan Manuel seems to have trouble getting his cabinet in order. In a letter to the President this week, Inspector General Alejandro Ordonez criticized the President for stating, during a trip to Paris, that he was not certain what role the future of the Public Police Force has in the negotiations. According to Ordonez , this is indicative of Santos being a "disengaged" president. Santos responded by calling the comments "perverse and malicious" and reminded the country that the future of the country's armed forces depends on the results of the peace negotiations in Havana.
