Egypt - Oct 3
Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome insists that no harm will come to Egypt as a result of the construction. Among Egypt’s concerns were the threat to their Nile water supply and the possibility of the Ethiopian dam collapsing and contaminating the water. Both sides are engaged in talks with Sudan to form an international expert committee to issue a report on the dam. Construction projects continue despite unrest, and it is unclear whether they exacerbate or ameliorate current situations. Source: Al-Ahram
