Kuwait - Oct 3
Citing rulings to protect "national unity, security, and sovereignty," Kuwait has revoked the citizenship of 32 people in the past four months who were accused of acts or beliefs attributed to political dissidence. The people and their familities are rendered effectively stateless, and lose access to employment, education, and health care and any other privileges and rights granted by the state. Citizenship is used as a tool for intimidation and has been similarly employed across the region for political dissidents, from Bahrain to the UAE. Source: Al-Monitor
