France - Apr 14
On Monday, the City Hall of Paris expressed its official support for submitting a bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Although French President Francois Hollande and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo were originally skeptical due to the high costs of hosting, they now fully support the bid. The cost of bidding is estimated to be just over 60 million euros and will be partly crowd-funded. A final decision will be made by the Olympic Committee in September. Source: Euronews
