France - Nov 28

The President of France, Francois Hollande, visited Guinea on November 28 with the intention of sending a “message of solidarity”. He is the first non-African leader to visit one of the countries (Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone) with an Ebola outbreak in Western Africa. The outbreak began in Guinea a year ago and has claimed almost 6,000 lives in Guinea alone. This is also the first time a French president has visited Guinea since 1999.
