Greece - Nov 28

On November 28, almost 600 refugees from Syria, Palestine, and Afghanistan arrived on a cargo ship in Crete after more than a week at sea. The boat lost power and had to be towed to land. The Red Cross offered temporary shelter, meals, and clothing to the refugees. Thousands of migrants flee war and poverty in their homeland and make the dangerous journey to Europe. Migrants who have the resources often pay smugglers from $2,000 to $6,000 to be taken to Italy or Greece.
