It’s been confirmed that Gambian authorities are willing to work with the United nations in the investigation on the December 30th coup attempt on President Yahye Jammeh. The UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for West Africa, Muhammed Ibn Chambas, reiterated the UN’s condemnation of the violent attack, but also urged the government to respect the rule of law in the nation. The hope is to bring the culprits to justice with complete due process and total respect for human rights. Source: All Africa
