Hong Kong - Feb 7
The first rally of the Hong Kong Democracy movement occurred on February 1st, yet the turnout was a mere 13,000 out of the expected 50,000. This phenomenon is referred to as "protest fatigue" since many of the earlier ralliers have become increasingly disillusioned with the protests. Many believe that the protests believe that demonstrations have not served any progressive function. The bill to enforce Beijing's government reforms will go to a vote in June. Source: The Japan Times
