The Hong Kong branch of Amnesty International issued statement urging Hong Kong police to exercise restraint following violent episode. On October 14th, police arrested 45 protesters after they broke out of police restricted area. One protester, Ken Tsang, was dragged to a dark corner by the police and beaten up by a group of police for four minutes. The process was captured and broadcasted on local television news and circulated online, attracting vigorous criticisms on the Internet and by international media.
