Hong Kong - Oct 30

The (now former) leader of a pro-Beijing, pro-business party, James Tien, was expelled from the Communist Party's Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference after making remarks that the Chief Executive, CY Leung, should consider resigning for violating the body's constitution and charter. In a press conference in Hong Kong, Tien said that he saw no reason to retract his remarks and continued to reiterate that a successor to Leung could start a more constructive dialogue with the protestors and pan-democrats.
