The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe introduced the reinterpretation of the Article 9 of pacifist Constitution on Tuesday, Oct.21, in which he allowed Self Defense Forces to play an assertive role especially over the two important seas. Despite the concerns with growing tensions between Japan and China, Abe explains the reinterpretation as part of normalizing Japan to match its role as a major economic power.
