Japan - Sept 29

Another rescue effort was halted due to toxic gases that followed the eruption of Mt. Ontake, in central Japan, on 27 Sept. Deaths of about thirty climbers are claimed to be dead and 69 injured. The disaster led to a delay in the restart of a nuclear reactor in Kagoshima prefecture, southern Japan, and the potential danger of airborne ash and boulders was announced for a further damage.
