Kazakhstan - Jan 28

A nation with close ties to the Russian Federation, it comes as no surprise that Kazakhstan is mimicking Moscow by cracking down on public demonstrations. The government has officially banned public demonstrations, regardless of whether or not they are peaceful, in fear of a coup. The main source of concern comes from seeing the effect which the Ukrainian people had on the government within the past year. International organizations are quite displeased with this development as transparency in this already repressive country is disappearing. Source:  Reuters
