Lebanon - Sept 28
Local tent villages near the hospital in Arsal were invaded and some set ablaze last Thursday, and hundreds of males were rounded up and taken away for questioning. Arsal is the first stop for many civilians fleeing the Syrian civil war. According to the Lebanese army, the Arsal raids resulted in 22 arrests, and over 450 Syrians have been detained in similar raids over the past two weeks. Last month, there was a deadly spillover of violence in Arsal. The issue of Syrian refugees has divided Lebanese citizens, with security being a major concern.
