Nigeria - Nov 6

According to Nigerian officials, more than 2,000 prisoners have escaped over the past five years in Nigeria, mainly as a result of attacks on jails by Boko Haram. A recent jihadist attack on a French cement plant in the north of the country, which was later found to be missing a large supply of dynamite, is evidence that these attacks are far from over and may play a part in the militant group’s fight to overthrow the government. Insecurity is, without a doubt, becoming increasingly worrying for Nigerians, as new evidence continues to point to the fact that even when arrested, Boko Haram militants still pose a viable threat.
