Somalia - Sept 29

5 people were killed in Somalia in confrontations between pirates who were fighting over the ransom paid for Michael Scotte Moore, a journalist held hostage for nearly three years. Armed groups are continuing to fight for control over Somalia since the overthrow of President Siad Barre, and these types of clashes are the result of flourishing piracy within the country. Piracy has become less prominent off the coast of Somalia due to measures taken internationally, however, the issue still continues to plague the nation’s central government. Source: BBC
