Spain - Oct 31
Spain has been recently struggling to control rampant online piracy, however some intellectual property laws were approved by the Spanish Congress on 10/30 and will go into effect by January 2015. As a result, a “Google tax” (not imposed on the search engine) will now force websites who reproduce material without adequate attribution to compensate the original publishers. There are estimates which predict sanctions of at least €600,000 for websites that sponsor other sites offering pirated content. Source: El Pais
