The plight of civilians continues in Debaltseve after the fall of the town to NAF forces after the collapse of UAF resistance in the area. Having endured the ferocious fighting over the town, the remaining one thousand citizens emerged from their bomb shelters to look for food and water. Although NAF aid convoys have arrived to the town the mood remains somber with people questioning whether the destruction was worth it. With the arrival of members of the OSCE monitoring mission in Debaltseve to conduct loss estimates, the expected casualties of the conflict, 5600, are expected to rise. Source: New York Times
